Vidya Balan is a renowned name in the Bollywood film industry. She is no doubt a stunning and leading actress. As a successful actress, she has received many awards which include National Film Award, five Film Fare Awards, and five Screen Awards, and also the Great Padma Shri by the Indian Government in 2014.
Vidya Balan is the part of Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2014. She has been currently selected as a sari ambassador. Recently, she got opportunity to do stunning photo shoot for the well known Australian designers Akira Isogawa and Susan Dimasi. Akira Isogawa is one of the top Australian fashion designers. Isogawa is famous for his lavish costumes and contemporary designs. The stunning costume of Cate Blanchett was stitched and designed by Akira Isogawa. She wore that beautiful dress on her winning ceremony of Oscar award For Elizabeth. Isogawa recently designed a special outfit for Vidya Balan according to Vidya’s dressing style. The outfit was a mixture of both traditional Japanese designs and Australian chic.
Apart from this, another Australian designer, Susan Dimasi created a hand woven textile with silk ribbon through a rubber net. The textile was draped as a stunning saree. The inspiration was takes from 18th century brocades out of the Victorian art gallery’s collection. Dimasi revealed in a statement, “The handwoven textile was exhibited at the prestigious Melbourne Now arts exhibition at the iconic National Gallery of Victoria and then draped on Vidya as a sari” The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2014 continues from May 1 to May 11. The festival is scheduled to be screened over 45 films with over 30 Australian premieres. Legendary Amitabh Bachchan is said to be hosting the opening ceremony of the festival on 1st May.
