10 lucky fans to walk the ramp with Deepika Padukone

Famous Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone recently launched her clothing brand with Van Heusen. In order to showcase the collection of outfits, the brand wanted to come up with a fashion show. Deepika put forward an amazing idea. She suggested that instead of the top models, her fans should get the opportunity to walk the ramp with her. 10 female fans of Deepika have been chosen across the world for the ramp walk.

 

Deepika says, “I thought it would be interesting to pick girls who identify with the way I dress. We haven’t selected them on the basis of their looks, height or whether they are experienced models. It was a random pick from the entries we had.”

 

In order to prepare the female fans for the walk, Deepika is shooting at nights. She has taken entire responsibility to groom the models. The models are required to undergo rehearsals, makeup, grooming techniques, trials and everything needed to make them prepare for the ramp walk.

 

“I have been through that process myself. I will make it as memorable and special for them. We have got a very good make-up team, which will get them ready for the show, and a top name will choreograph it. I remember the time when I was a model, and I remember all the excitement backstage. I want them to experience that as well. I will spend time with them, chat and groom them so that they go back with great memories,” says Deepika.

 

Deepika expressed her gratitude towards her fans by saying, “I have always been grateful to my fans and, in whatever little way, I have always tried to give back” The event is scheduled to take place on April 10, 2014.
