An utterly unheard professional side of Bollywood’s superstar Deepika Padukone is all set to be seen on the silver screen later in 2020. The actress is making a massive come back, after a post-marriage break of one-year, with the film called Chhapaak. Having the privilege to play the protagonist of a real-life acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal, She thinks this will stick with her forever.
Back in 2005, Laxmi Agarwal was only 15-years old when she was thrown acid by a man on her face while waiting for a bus at the station. The motive behind this heinous crime was his ego that badly got hurt after Laxmi denied a marriage proposal.
This did not stop her from pursuing in life, instead turned her into a devoted proponent against acid attackers in India. Her campaign Stop Sale Acid has succeeded in getting a 27k signature for her petition she took to Indian Supreme Court.
Deepika has shown her excitement in her interview with Vogue’s 73 Question for this film. The film is to hit the theaters in January 2020.
