The legendary Maula Jatt is back and how. The movie is named as The Legend of Maula Jatt, but it not a sequel or remake of the Punjabi blockbuster, Maula Jatt, released in 1979. However it is said to be the most expensive film produced in Pakistan, ever.

Fawad Mahira - The legend of Maula Jatt trailer

Bilal Lashari, who has written and directed the film and has been busy for years with this and now we see why. The trailer is finally out and making a buzz internationally, after its first look revelation in February 2015. Bilal is known to be one of the finest directors in the Pakistani film industry, after his flawlessness in Waar.

The lead cast includes the top actors too. Earlier, we had been seeing updates on Fawad Khan losing and putting on weight for the character and it is finally revealed that he is playing the Maula, actually. Then we have Hamza Ali Abbasi whose looks have been drastically transformed with heavy hair and beard. The Bol lead actress, Humaima Malick, is playing a lead too, and for all those waiting to see the super hit Humsafar couple together again, Mahira is paired with Fawad. We are sure that we got you going “Awwww” over this already.

While, Ali Azmat will have a special appearance, the supporting cast includes the phenomenal Gohar Rasheed, Faris Shafi, Nayyer Ejaz, Saima Baloch and Shafqat Cheema.

Since Fawad and Mahira have worked across the border, too, a few Indian directors and actors have sent in their best wishes and hopes for The Legend of Maula Jatt. This includes the ever loving Karan Johar who posted, “Fawad this looks amazing!!!! Congratulations and am sure it will be a massive success!!!”

While Anurag Kashyap wrote, “Maula Jatt is back and this time its Fawad Khan.” However, Fawad’s former co stars Sonam Kapoor, Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt are in an awe of his first look and fellow actors.

Talking of the first trailer of the film, it starts with bringing back the legend of Maula with his iconic Gandasa on the land of Punjab. The direction and make up are all intense, giving a little feel of Padmaavat. Mahira and Fawad, look way too fierce, but Hamza Ali Abbasi surely won it all with the fire in his eyes.

The masterpiece comes out at Eid ul Fitr, July 2019 and will be the first movie of Pakistan, to release in China on the same day. We are too pumped up to watch it first day, first show. What about you?
