Tharparkar District, is one of the twenty nine districts of Sindh province in Pakistan. It is largest district of Sindh province by land area.
For the last ten years there have been really bad conditions in Tharparkar due to which 50 percent of the overall population migrated to barrage areas to find food, because during droughts it becomes hard for them to even find water to drink, leave alone for growing crops.
Waqar Zaka, A Pakistani VJ-turned social worker. Who has recently started #TharChallenge along with his father and team! He planned to travel all the way to Thar from Karachi which is 470km almost 6 hours.
Waqar Zaka and his team took along around 50 to 60 packs of food and water supplies for people of Thar. We really appreciate his initiative for becoming voice of Thar people. His Vlog is a strong message for all the people and politicians of Pakistan to come and help people suffering there.
People are highly affected by diseases in Thar due to no food and water supplies. People drink water with insects inside and not clean at all. There is no one to help them solve these problems for them.
Most of the people of Tharparkar tried to escape to save their livestock but a few did not because they did not want to leave their lands.
Most of the people didn’t know where Thar is or how the people are living their lives, all thanks to Waqar Zaka and his team for traveling all the way and raising the voice to help people of Thar.
We hope Pakistani nation and the Politicians come together to help those poor people in Thar who are suffering everyday.
