Kahaani, directed and co produced by Sujoy Ghosh is a drama thriller. Starring award winning actress Vidya Balan.

Kahaani is the story of a pregnant woman Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan). She is a software engineer in London and flies to India (Kolkata) in search of her missing husband Arnab. After landing at Kolkata airport she goes to police station to file missing person report, she tells the police that her husband came to Kolkata for his office assignment and stopped contacting her from last two weeks. After Investigation police coundn't find anything about her husband.

A Sympathic police officer Rana (Parambrata Chattopadhyay) helps her and they find out that her husband resembles Milan Damji national data center where her husband wes sent for assignment. Somehow all the evidences of Milan Damji have been wiped off and any attempt to get to him results in dead bodies.They find out that Milan Damji was behind the tragic train attack two years ago and her husbands resemblance with Milan Might be the reason oh his disappearance.

Vidya after giving a super performance in "The Dirty Picture" once again blow our mind with her flawless acting in the character of Vidya Bagchi. she is the focus of this movie and she brilliantly immerses herself in the charachter of Mrs. Bagchi. Rana(Parambrata Chattopadhyay) who palys a sub inspector, is impressive. Khan (Nawazuddin Sidiqqui) also did a great job.

Director Sujoy Ghosh has perfectly potrayed the true culture of Kolkata. He has done a fabulous job as a writer. The script is water tight and characterization is superb.

Music has been done by Vishal and Shekhar. Thay have done this type of music for the first time. These talented musicians bring apleasent surpise in form of a different music. Ami Shotti Bolchi is a heavy metal track with a Bengali touch sung by Usha Uthup. Piya Tu Kahe Roothe Re is a hard rock with the mix of Indian classical music and is beautifully sing by Javaid Bashir. Ekla Chalo Re by Amitab Bachan is inspirational. The music of Kahaani is different and fantastic.

This movie catches the attention of the audience from the beginning and keeps them engaged till the end. Story and casting makes the movie fantastic. The movie is full of thrilling moments and a big suspense in the end.
